BIG NEWS

Finally, we can see our LID on CCAI's website. The CCAA has finished matching babies with families logged in 2/28/06. Although we have a way to go 3/24/06, it is nice to see that our month is now at the front of the line. We estimate we will be matched with Maggie sometime between May & July and possibly sooner if the CCAI speeds things up. Since the orphanage donation went up to $5,000, it is speculation that a speed up is right around the corner. We are ok with the timeline now but it would be nice not to have to do our paperwork for a third time. We are so ready to get to the finish line and bring our little Maggie Moo home to be with her forever family - not to mention her big sister who is dying to see her baby sister.

Hi Stephanie,

I wanted to thank you for bringing my attention to an issue we really hadn't been considering with attachment. Our first son was also adopted but from very early on, thus we did not face these issues before. Our agency didn't really cover it and after reading about it we have made some changes. Thankfully we are having great success getting her to like her crib and room, and are responding to her needs as we've read. I would also like to say that if you do happen to share this insight with another family, please consider using a more gentle and kind approach to the sleep deprived, emotional parents who really don't know what to do. We've never considered our daughter to be bratty, as I'm sure most parents do not about their own. I think most parents would be receptive to a non-judgemental approach. Thanks again, and best wishes for your upcoming adoption.

Sounds like your wait is quickly coming to an end. I remember those days with such anticipation. Congratulations! Can't wait until we can follow your journey to little Maggie!
